Opening Act:
ESCT 32's Austrian Entry,
Parov Stelar feat Krista Youngs - 'Taking Over'
Welcome to Austria's National Final for ESCT 33. After a one edition break, Wer singt für Österreich? is back as a preselection and will decide which artist and the song that will go to Turku as Austria's representant of ESCT 33. It's an already well-known format, with the exception that this time we'll start directly with the final, so I'll explain the rules and then the contest will begin.
There are 6 participants in the contest, everyone of them will present their song then the results will be decided on the already classic way. All the participants in ESCT 33 will be able to send in votes which will count 50% of the final result, while the other half of points will be decided by an internal juror. Every participant from ESCT 33 who wants to vote will give in points this way:
6th place - 1 point
5th place - 4 points
4th place - 5 points
3rd place - 6 points
2nd place - 8 points
1st place - 12 points
In the end the amount of points will be calculated and by the order of the total points there will be a final table. The whole points will be transformed this way:
6th place - 5 points
5th place - 6 points
4th place - 7 points
3rd place - 8 points
2nd place - 10 points
1st place - 12 points
This will represent half of the results. For the other half, an internal juror will directly give points to the songs as a final result, the way that the voters gave them as a whole. In the end the 2 sets of transformed points will be added and the song with the most points will be the winner and Austria's entry for ESCT 33. In case of equality, the voters' winner will decide the winner of the competition. In case of equality before the voters' sum is transformed, the song with the most highest points received in one set, will have the upper hand.
Everyone is invited to vote, however only 10 voters will count, in chronological order. It is needed a number between 5 and 10 jurors, if there will be less than 5 voters, then the internal juror will decide the winner. The contest will be open until Monday 21st January or until 10 voters and the internal jurors expressed their choices. Let's get started and may the best song win!
1. Rebecca_1147 - 'Better Off Alone'
Going under pseudonym of Rebecca_1147, this debutant in terms of ESCT's selections will try to impress both the juror and the contestants with a very original refreshing sound that might be seen as a potential dark horse for Turku.
2. Luke Andrews - 'Laura'
The 2nd entry of tonight will bring in a charismatic and full of energy guy obsessed by his crush Laura that he will try to bring with him to Turku.
3. AVEC - 'Under Water'
It's time for a little emotion given by a local girl singer that will try to escape from under water and start her road to success directly the lakes of Finland.
4. ZOE - 'C'est la Vie'
The 4th artist is not a new name in ESCT community. ZOE is the only artist today that has represented Austria in the past in ESCT and she's trying to catch the lucky 3rd attempt afterwards to get back there and show us this time a different way to say that this is the life.
5. FITZ! - 'Bipolar'
And then we have the only former participant in the Second Chance Contest, this time coming for a little more with the pop/rock entry of tonight, trying to create something beautiful for them and for Austria in Finland.
6. Andreas Gabalier - 'Hallihallo'
And what would be a national selection without a song interpreted in the 'mother tongue', the only German language song of tonight. Andreas Gabalier is a well-known and pretty successful figure in this country and will try to put some joy on our faces and maybe not just tonight with the sympathetic 'Hallihallo'.
The vote is open until Monday 21st of January. You have to vote with 1-4-5-6-8-12 points depending on your preferences. Please, start voting now!
