Opening Act:
Vida Noa - 'Bulletproof'
Guten Abend Europa! Tonight is all about German as we've going forward for a great special edition of ESCT and tonight we're starting the final race to find out which act will represent Austria in this competition. Out of 10 candidates, only 6 are left and will battle in the final stage for only one place for the big stage in Casablanca. I will explain the rules and than we'll have the chance to meet and see what they prepared for this competition.
There are 6 participants in the contest, everyone of them will present their song then the results will be decided on the already classic way. All the participants in ESCT 30 will be able to send in votes which will count 50% of the final result, while the other half of points will be decided by an internal juror. Every participant from ESCT 30 who wants to vote will give in points this way:
6th place - 1 point
5th place - 4 points
4th place - 5 points
3rd place - 6 points
2nd place - 8 points
1st place - 12 points
In the end the amount of points will be calculated and by the order of the total points there will be a final table. The whole points will be transformed this way:
6th place - 5 points
5th place - 6 points
4th place - 7 points
3rd place - 8 points
2nd place - 10 points
1st place - 12 points
This will represent half of the results. For the other half, an internal juror will directly give points to the songs as a final result, the way that the voters gave them as a whole. In the end the 2 sets of transformed points will be added and the song with the most points will be the winner and Austria's entry for ESCT 30. In case of equality, the voters' winner will count the most. In case of equality before the voters' sum is transformed, the song with the most highest points received in one set, will have the upper hand.
Everyone is invited to vote, however only 10 voters will count, in chronological order. It is needed a number between 5 and 10 jurors, if there will be less than 5 voters, then the internal juror will decide the winner. The contest will be open until Thursday, 17th of April or until 10 voters and the internal jurors expressed their choices, with the reference that the head delegation has the right to extend the deadline in case there are less than 5 votes received until that date. Let's get started and may the best song win!
1. Christina Stürmer - 'Du Fehlst Hier'
For the first act we have a pretty familiar name. Christina Sturmer is one of the most well known pop singers in Austria. She is a former winner of Wer Singt Fur Osterreich and Austria's representant in ESCT 26 with the song 'Seite an Seite'. As a curiosity she is also the last participant from Austria to sing in German in ESCT.
2. Wanda - 'Weiter, Weiter'
Next we have Wanda, maybe the most famous band in Austria nowadays, a common name in Austria's charts. They are remarkable for their indie rock style and are debuting in Wer Singt Fur Osterreich with the song 'Weiter, Weiter'.
3. Tagträumer - 'Unendlich Gleich'
In 3rd we have the chance to listen to Tagtraumer, a pop band that is debuting in Wer Singt Fur Osterreich with the song 'Unendlich Gleich'. They are a very young band which started to appera on Austrian music scene from 2014, so they could be one of the most promising bands in Austria right now.
4. Pizzera & Jaus - 'Unerhört Solide'
Next we have former Wer Singt Fur Osterreich participants in the edition for ESCT 27. Paul Pizzera and Otto Jaus are 2 comics from Austria, also famous for singing a pop-rock with opera inluences. They are coming back with a strong message included in the song 'Unerhört Solide' and are trying, for the 2nd time, to win and represent Austria in ESCT.
5. Skolka - 'Jetzt kumm'
In number 5 we have Skolka, a polka style band, meaning they are including some traditional elements from this part of Europe in their music. They are debuting in Wer Singt fur Osterreich with a suggestive song for what they are singing, called 'Jetzt kumm'.
6. Gnackwatschn - 'He Muhla'
They opened the contest entering firstly in the first semi-final, now they have the honour to end it. Debuting in Wer Singt Fur Osterreich we have the Reggae band Gnackwatschn, coming in the contest with a lot of energy and a multitude of styles found in their candidate for ESCT,
